Imperfect Beachhouse Makeover

Linda at Restyled Home introduced a challenge to share our projects that are not expensive but creative, a ‘Perfectly Imperfect Week’. I think my so called beach house wall is a good example of a maybe not perfect beach house veranda.

I have a little garden with a small veranda terras and for this summer I wanted to create a beachy feeling to the terras… For days I was wandering around, looking at all kinda garden shops and DIY stores. But everything I found was just to expensive or just to new looking for the kind of atmosphere I was aiming for.

So while still thinking of ways to cover the wall in wood at a cheap, for me affordable, way I found this three shelves at the Xenos store. Shelves off second hand wood, two of them already painted in white and a brown one, which I gave a touch of grey paint. I then painted the wall in a light stone grey color and put on the shelves. And completed it with some hooks and a candle holder I found at the Riviera Maison sale and some of the Xenos store. Maybe not like the real thing, but it sure gives me this beachy feeling of happiness I was looking for. And it makes me happy to see the little light shining at night.

A look inside out
