How to add a touch of nature....

On facebook I saw her post about Norm Architects Copenhagen and as I looked through the mostly white houses on there I realized how much I love the combination of white walls, empty spaces and that little touch of nature most pictures showed...... Scroll down if you want to find out how to add a touch of nature in your own home.

Would you like a touch of nature as well at your own place then maybe the idea of my favorite stylist Frans Uyterlinde, who works for again .. my favorite Interior magazine VT Wonen is something for you... He found a huge bamboo basket (that appeared to be a chicken run in the far east) and made a lamp out of it with two wooden sticks, some cotton braided wire and a socket.

The bamboo lamp is amazing and lovely. I do not think I could live in such a bare place but I understand your love for it.

I really love her spaces! The materials of the soft grey cement blocks with the washed wood for the spaces are beautifully lit with natural light. I especially love the natural light at the apex of the ceiling. This is a beautifully designed space that welcomes nature inside and can be easily marked with your own special things because the 'canvas' of the home are so well done. I would have many smiles every morning in this space. I can feel it!

Have a beautiful weekend!

Hi Desiree,
I just love white and grey but I think that it definitely needs the touch of natural wood and other materials to give a room warmth. These rooms show that perfectly. I love all of it and now want to re-decorate my whole house !!!!
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. XXXX

I love the simple white spaces very minimalist and clean. Your blog banner is beautiful too with all of the whites in it. I'm slowly trying to move to all whites. So clean and fresh looking.

Love the lamp! Most probably you could by the chicken cage for a couple of euro in Bali. And at the same time make one of the farmers extremely happy! =)

There is so much power in just the tiniest, weeniest touch of natural timber here - it instantly lifts and warms these spaces. Very beautiful post.

I always appreciate these beautiful clean open spaces - and would love to achieve it but somehow don't think it is going to happen, if I had a little summerhouse then maybe I could achieve it starting new and fresh! not that it is going to happen so I will just have to appreciate it from afar.

The 'lampshade' is one of the baskets from Tine K Home in Denmark. VT wonen got it from Kitsch & Kunst in Rotterdam.
I (unfortunately) don't sell them as they take up too much space in storage.
