Autumn

These are some pictures of the new TineK Autumn collection. I love the way the items are presented and the 'autumn feeling' is captured in these pictures! A really stunning location ... and ain't that cabinet just one of the bests you have seen in a long time... enjoy!

A locker in the bedroom

As promised some pictures from the Annual exhibition for indoor and outdoor living this month in Amsterdam. One of the highlights for me are the individual houses of the interior magazines. Like I said last year, it is great to wander around inside your favorite magazine.

This year I felt really at home in the VT Wonen stand. I had to think of my own bedroom with the metal locker and the pile of postbags on top.... the purple blanket hanging on the wall... I loved the grey walls, the linen sheets and the cosy headboard. Last year the house was totally white.. this year it was dark and very different. Have a look yourself.

Gray painted locker in my own bedroom ....

Have a great weekend and while you are surfing the web.... please take time to visit the fabulous Fifi and have a look at her brand new book called 'Prairie Style' ! ...Chez Fifi

Therese Sennerholt Design

A while ago I came across the website of Therese Sennerholt, a Swedish art-director who mainly works with advertising. Recently, as a side hobby, she started to produce graphic prints with new and old quotations, found or self made up.

Not only do I love graphic prints but I also love the little sense of humor in the quotations. All prints are sold in her own webshop and at different retailers.

The master plan

Pimped chair in my studio

Surfing the web, reading your blogs and being 'addicted' to interior magazines there are lot of ideas for my own home spinning around in my head all the time. Some images you forget again but some you always remember and love to bits... I am pretty sure that all these ideas and impressions, influence the decisions you make when changing or renovating a room or maybe even your whole house.

I have a thing that I call my 'master plan'... it is an idea of an atmosphere I have in mind for a certain room or corner in my house. In my head I am working towards the Master plan .... (are you still following me?) Depending on the right moment, the things I already have or collected or just came on my path ... It can take a weekend or, more likely if money is involved as well... even a year before the plan is ready to work out...

My own Master plan.....
Now let me explain you my 'master plan' It all has to do with knocking down a wall in my kitchen to make it bigger and create room for a big table! One of the things I like most is having dinners with friends and family, nothing formal... just enjoying each others company, chatting and enjoying fresh food around a (preferable big) table. After knocking down walls... One of my wishes is to lay the white floor I already have in some of the rooms throughout the whole house...

The good thing about having a master plan....
The good thing about working towards your master plan is that decisions about tables, chairs and cabinets can switch from black to white or metal... because it is all a thing in your head and seeing new products or articles can make you change and also switch back easily to whatever you were planning first.

For my own kitchen plan I made some decisions... It has to have the same atmosphere as the rest of my house... Being overall white with some grays. Relaxing and definitely some concrete wall exposed and an industrial touch! Like metal cabinets or industrial tabourets.

Ohh and white chairs I want. It has to be a kind of combination between the two pictures above ..... So now you might understand why I have a white chair in my studio pimped with a sheepskin in a beautiful shade of gray.... It is all part of the masterplan

Raw and simple

If you ever read my welcome message.. or visited me before you might know that the thing I like most is a pure and simple home. I adore bright white walls as you see in Mediterranean houses and have a weakness for concrete, industrial furniture and some raw elements in my house like the rail above with the big black nails.

In Holland this kind of wood is really popular (it is originally used as walking boards on building sites) I love the combination of this wood with bright white plastered walls. Especially when treated with some white chalk wax it gives me this beachy feeling I love so much. (also my really big cabinet is made of it)

This hanging garden I photographed in an Italian shop is made of the same wood

A new sign in the hallway

This really big sign made out of black glass, with the name of the owner and company written in thick white letters, was brought to me some days ago. A really great present from my friend Myrna. A happy but also sad moment as it was a farewell present. She and her family recently emigrated to Spain to build a new life. I wish her all the luck from the world!

In the picture

After being so much in the picture this last week, both by the IKEA Family Live team and you lovely blog readers here and on Facebook I am slowly getting back to normal... I have still lots of blogs to read and many mails to answer so if you wonder why I am not visiting your posts... please be patient with me. I was also visiting the Dutch Exhibition for indoor and outdoor living yesterday and will be posting some pictures of it in my next post!

Although in my studio as the English called it... I have bright white picture rails and frames... I do love this dark picture frame I came across. I used to have an old black picture frame (see here) in my living room that I banned to my storage last winter. Seeing this I am thinking to bring it back in the house again and make something like Annaleena from the Swedish blog Hem did with her picture frame. I love Annaleena's style that she calls... Modern Bohemian.
