Blogtour NYC Sponsor | Victoria + Albert Baths

You might have read my post last week about going to New York City soon for Modenus Blogtour. The tour is sponsored by lots of very kind sponsors and we will meet most of them in New York as well. Today I had a closer look at their websites to get to know them better. On the website
of Victoria + Albert Bathsmy eye caught this picture with free standing bath tub Barcelona. Can you imagine getting up in the morning ..... and walking straight into this amazing bathroom!

Just like the multi-faceted cultural city, the Barcelona tub and basin models are a clever mix of contemporary design and a timeless style rich in history. Organic beauty is at the very center of the Barcelona design concept.
The Collection was inspired by the city's distinctive urban landscape, world famous for its elegant curves and natural forms created by prominent architects such as Gaudi.

The contemporary, pebble-shaped Barcelona bath features a rimless, double-ended design that is big enough for two, measuring 70-1/4" long. Crafted of ENGLISHCAST® - a composite material rich in finely ground volcanic limestone - it is cast in one seamless piece that won’t creak or flex. This unique construction is hand finished to provide a glossy white solid surface that is highly durable, warm to the touch and easy to clean.
Also available in the collection is the coordinating Barcelona vessel basin which shares the bath’s naturally white finish and composition.

Thank you Victoria + Albert Baths for sponsoring this amazing BlogTour

An Industrial home in the Countryside

I don't think there is anyone who has not had a sneak peek of the home of Dutch felt artist Paula Leen, who lives on the Dutch countryside with her family. Their home is a beautiful example of what I meant to say in my yesterday's post: Finding the balance between Scandinavian whites and French grays.

It just seems totally in balance! With a French antique farmhouse table and several design and hand made objects. Especially one of her kitchen pictures has been shared lots of times on blogs and Pinterest boards  |Like on my own

| But!!! I had never seen the picture above, still from that very same amazing kitchen. Don't you just love this home!

Finding the balance between Scandinavian whites and French grays

While writing this weeks giveaway and looking at pictures I noticed this beautiful tablesetting of Norm DinnerwareI wrote about the line Norm architects and Menu designed for the Copenhagen restaurant Höst before,  when I showed the styling work of Emma: New Norm dinnerware photoshoot - styled by Emma Fexeus

Beautiful design, all in my favorite colors! But what I also really love in this picture is the combination of the tableware and that grey linen tablecloth. I guess it is this balance between Scandinavian design and the grey linen that's adding a French touch that I love. A bit like using both old an new stuff or combining design with industrial furniture in your home. It's all about finding the right balance between the two and what feels good for you I guess.

Made in Italy and now also available in the Benelux. The combination of tradition, craftsmanship and technology has ensured the "magic" formula for UASHMAMA ® (say Wash mama) paper.

Uashmama® is a material of 100% cellulose fiber, manufactured using virgin fiber from cultivation and not by deforestation. Worked through a mechanical process, used in both the paper and skin industries.

It is paper, it looks like leather, is washable as fabric and retains its shape. It is suitable for many purposes. The product line of UASHMAMA ® is endless and continues to inspire. The products are piece by piece designed with love and craftsmanship from Tuscany.

After the very popular Paper Bags the line is now extended with handbags, shoppers, braces and aprons. Available in different styles and colours

Giveaway – Reversible Manu Bag from UASHMAMA®

Chalk paint walls in concrete and zinc

Together with friends and family we painted lots of walls in beautiful concrete and zinc colors last month at the home of my daughter {get your chalk paint here at my latest sponsor L'authentique} I will show some pictures of it, as soon as they will be finished arranging things a bit .

Since then I keep seeing grey walls with black accessories like the lamp and the Pia Wallen plaid in these pictures. I found them on Sigrun's blog
Skrinet. What a lovely bedroom with the boxes as bedside tables and the coat rack with the paper bags. Check out also the rest of her blog for more corners of her home.

Northern Delights | Scandinavian Homes, Interiors and Design

When I was in Stockholm last month I finally got the chance to meet up with one of my long term online blogger friends Emma Fexeus. Next to running the oldest Swedish Design blog Emmas design blogg, her styling jobs, like this and this one for example. She also found time to work her new book called  Northern Delights. Here are a couple of preview pages. Well done Emma!

In Northern Delights, design classics meet young talents, individual products meet skillfully staged living spaces. The book’s stunning selection of work reveals what makes Scandinavian design so exceptional. The included examples show how the grains of different woods, the clarity of colored glass, the cheery colors of fabrics and patterns, and the overall quality of craftsmanship contribute to creating simple, inviting, and very comfortable living spaces.

Northern Delights offers inspiration to designers, architects, and individuals in equal measure. In a Scandinavian dwelling, everyone feels at home.

The book will be released on March 25 in Europe and worldwide release in April  Pre-Order your book here at Amazon.

Meet the blogger Stockholm #5 | GRANIT

Granit, the all black and white store in Stockholm was definitely my favorite in town. Whilst walking pass it with the bloggers-tour on Sunday, Emma pointed it out to me saying that would be my store!

And was she right.... We went several times, using the excuse to come along each time one of us forgot something. Not a single colour in there! And filled with gorgeous things for the home, stationary, office supplies in black & white and materials such as concrete, metal and glass. New stores will open in Paris, London and online!

The next Meet the blogger conference is in London on March 9 and 10 Get your ticket here
