Danish classics in the south of France | Home of Stylejunky owners

Nicholas and Juliet created this home in their new homecountry French when moving to Cannes, where they opened Fashion store Stylejunky . A small but elegant apartment with high ceilings, French parquet floors and Danish Design classics. The olive tree may be a sign we're in the South of France but it's difficult to imagine high temperatures and blue skies when opening windows as the apartment has  a real Nordic feeling.

Kristina Dam Studio | Graphic objects

Surfing through my bookmarks I came across the work of Copenhagen based designer Kristina Dam The picture above caught my eye immediately as I love the basic form of the table and even more because I was thinking of a new bedside table in this particular shape! Definitely a 'sign' don't you think!

Kristina is educated as a graphic designer at the Royal Danish Academy of Architecture and says her objects and illustrations are inspired by this background and her love for letters as a graphic designer. I have fallen in love with her work and I would have loved to see it at Maison et Objet this next week.

A dark and cozy winterhome

Feels like a dark and cozy home for winter, this home at St Kilda beach, Melbourne. When days are short and it's dark early and you can't ask for nothing else then feeling the warmt of a fire and dream away on that huge couch.

Snapshots from my home | A Black kitchen wall

The black wall in my own kitchen is one of the things I really love about my home. I think a bit of black gives a room just that little extra. The small wall is now white! again. I painted it black for December and it took me 5 layers of paint to get it sparkling white again! But before that I made a few snapshots of the industrial table that I us as an extra storage.

Shelf Systems | Scandinavian and Dutch design

I remember we had lots of shelving systems for books and small items at home as a kid. It was the famous Dutch Tomado rack, developed after the second world war and it was one of those things every family in the Netherlands had at home for decades. Shelf systems have never gone out of fashion I guess and the Dutch shelf system is back in production and a black and white version can be found at HEMA at the moment.

I had to think about this when I came across these new pictures of the Swedish String shelf system. I love how both standing and hanging units can be combined and of course the styling by Lotta Agaton, beautifully captured on camera by Marcus Lawett, adds an extra waugh factor to them.

A copper clothes rack | Inspiration from Minneapolis

I recently discovered Wide Eyed Legless, written by Madelynn Hackwith Furlong, a Stylist, Designer and Curator living in Minneapolis. It was that one picture above that caught my eye as I loved the minimalistic look of it.

Reading further and emailing with Madelynn I discovered she had set herself a goal last year to increase simplicity in her wardrobe and style. Investing in less and better quality clothing in order to create her perfect wardrobe. On her blog you can read more on her style transformations.

I think she made the perfect copper clothes rack to go along with it. The rack is made out of copper pipes, and the matching hangers her husband brought back from his trip to Amsterdam this summer! As the copper poles are hallow there is a rope strung through the middle of them and the rack is hung from the ceiling that way.
