Industrial home in the city of Amsterdam

I love homes with an industrial touch, like this Eindhoven Loft conversion or my absolute favourite home designed by Paola Navone in Italy |An industrial white home designed by Paola Navone|

The home in this post has been seen on many blogs before. But for me my blog is next to the place where I love to share things, also a sort of documentation for myself of the things I love. This home in the Jordaan area of interior designer Marius Haverkamp and his wife Emily Gray |creator of Gray Label| is definitely one of them.

The kid friendly home with huge kitchen with concrete floors and a beautiful brick wall has it rooms situated around a small courtyard made of glass and steel. Something I am really attracted to as I love these enclosed outdoor spaces. Maybe because I am busy realising one for my own home at the moment.

Summer inspiration | Piet Boon villa

With the days getting longer and a hopefully beautiful summer vacation ahead, I told you I slowly started thinking about some small renovations around the home. I previously wrote about my grey dream bathroom | Inspiration for your bathroom | And looking for different tiles, I came across these stunning pictures of a home designed by Piet Boon.

This bathroom, part of a private villa at a Portugese golf course just screams summer to me... I love the little light coming through the roof and falling on the beautiful wall made of locally sourced stone. Do
you like this villa as much as I do?

Snapshots from my home

For the blogtalk in Dutch vtwonen magazine a few months ago I made lots of pictures at home. I was going through them last night and thought these ones were to cute not to show. I loved the sunlight peeking through some branches, on the first picture and actually made lots of them to make a movie with them all together... but as happened before I lost them in the mass of pictures circulating between camera, iPad, laptop and dropbox.

Minimal design | Tray by Christina Liljenberg Halstrom

This minimalistic tray is designed by Christina Liljenberg Halstrom, I wrote about here before after meeting her at Designtrade last summer where she showcased 'Georg' for Trip Trap. The tray is made out of a sheet of steel and connected by ash wood rods and rubber.

Inspiration for your bathroom | grey shades

I love to get inspired and working out new plans and ideas for my home. With most of the rooms almost 'finished' | Although I think I will never say my home is finished! | I am kinda looking around on what to do next...  I have big plans for my patio but also my bathroom is ready for a small renovation. Ever since I came to live in this house, I only changed some appliances in the bathroom and it doesn't really fit the rest of my home anymore.

Being a lover of concrete I can drool over a bathroom like the one in the picture above! The raw and greyish look of the sink together with the crispy white walls, the marble and the matt RVS appliances have written my name all over... not to speak of my favourite bathroom products!

When I got an email from CP hart with the question if I would like to share my favourite grey bathroom I had to think about this bathroom as its minimalistic look comes pretty close to my dream bathroom. Maybe the only things I would change is the stool, I would prefer a more contemporary Scandinavian look in black, and maybe a grey String shelving rack for some small items and guest towels.

The String shelving looks like a great contemporary wall unit that could easily be combined with an industrial cupboard to replace the basket and store towels and bathroom accessories. The picture below is from Merci in Paris, showing several small and larger industrial cabinets that would fit great with the white and grey tones.

For an industrial touch with a more modern feel, Spanish artist and industrial designer Jaime Hayon developed Bisazza Bagno. A range of bathroom furniture with a feminine touch. Available through one of the CP Hart showrooms

Something I would also love to change is the shower head and add this hand shower in my own bathroom found on the CPHart site. More bathroom inspiration on Pinterest. Also have a look using the #CPHart50shades hashtag as many more bloggers showed their grey dream bathroom.

Workspace inspiration | Little black suitcase crush

Hello this morning, how do you like my new 'workspace' corner... actually it is an old metal suitcase which I placed on a stool. Inside I keep my agenda's, and some of the most necessary 'tools'. I was bored with the wooden staircase in the kitchen and the other week I styled this little corner instead. Working very often at the kitchen table and less in my studio here |or here, this is all I need next to my iPad and laptop.

Ingo Maurer | Fuori Salone 2014

With only one showroom in Europe, in the outskirts of Munich, where Ingo Maurer and his team work on different lightning products and installations my friend insisted on going to see his work during our stay in Milan. The great thing is that we really go along on these trips and both have our little escapes to exhibitions we really want to see.

After walking lots already through Brera and even more to find the address. It was all worth it when we opened the velvet curtains and stepped
into the dark area.

I loved this exhibition. The pictures are not the best as it was really dark inside...but I guess you will get an impression. I also made a little iPhone movie |still really have to work |very hard| on my skills there but you can have a look at it here, just to give you an impression of the magic.

Inspriation for children's rooms | Plywood by luona

It looks so simple but the fact is, you have to come up with it and actually make it. That's what I thought when coming across these pictures. Plywood is still a loved material for our homes. No wonder Luona is a Finnish company, these children resolutions have the minimalistic look that goes with all things good coming from Scandinavia. On the picture below, a playhouse where children can hide and that they can use in a multifunctional way |more pictures from the cube here|
