Did you see the post where I showed the amazing presentation of the new 'Moooi' and Moooi carpets collection in Milan last month? The collection is now on its way to Amsterdam and NYC.

I have been missing Riikka's blogpost ... and her as a person ;) and I was really pleased to discover two blogposts on her blog tonight... I really love her styling and photography. Lately she has been painting and on her blog you can win the painting you see in the last picture... only this weekend on WeekdayCarnival

Just a few hundred meters after crossing the iconic bridge that connects Zona Tortona and the lively square of Porto Genova, IKEA opened IKEA Temporary. Behind the doors at Via Vigliano 18, a small courtyard revealed a first glimpse of the new collections and interpretations of the new IKEA kitchen line by designers such as Paola Navone. The 2025 kitchen was presented by students of TU Eindhoven and Lund university.

Pictures from a show-home styled by Marie Ramse and Alicia Sjöström for JM agency in Täby, a small town fifteen kilometers north of Stockholm. The apartment is styled in different shades of gray and small bits of blue. Greens are used throughout the whole apartment and I love how the balcony feels like an extra room by using the same colours and lots of green.

While being in Milan during this years Salone I was lucky to stay right in front of the Moooi exhibition, one of every years most spoken presentations! Being totally impressed by the breath taken pictures by Rahi Rezvani in combination with the new lighting and furniture collection I visited the huge hall almost everyday.

Hope you are still enjoying my posts about Milan Designweek, there is so much to share and besides the many new designers I could easily make another few posts about all the projects where Paola Navone was involved with this year. She is a real busy lady and she worked on so many new collections and installations in collaboration with several brands like Gervasoni, Cappelini and Dutch Linteloo. Besides her work as a designer she is also an amazing art director and I can't even think on how much fun it must be to come up with a concept and bring it to life.

My first ever modular shelving system after some really affordable ones from my local DIY shop was a Lundia system, we designed it ourselves and I remember it had blue drawers and red doors... it was some sort of a compromise, I liked blue and he liked red. After some years it was banned to the garage and years later, the week after I throw it out I came a cross a wall filled with black painted Lundia shelvings... and I kind of regretted.

Some time ago I received an email from Timo Niskane who recently launched his new Finnish lighting brand and eight new products. The Himmee collecton consists of three pendant lamps formed using different shades. You can see indications of flying saucers in the lamp design. The Lento lamps have got its inspiration from the world of old UFO cartoons and toys. The result suits the Scandinavian interior perfectly.

June 2016 Ikea will launch a new collection made in collaboration with some well known fashion designers, and I love to see Walter Van Beirendonck creating five prints for IKEA, which will be rolled out on a whole collection of interior design objects. I loved to learn more of his work, the Antwerp Six, and meeting him in Reykjavik where we both visited DesignMarch, shared the same hotel and bumped into eo a few times, only discovering the last night we both speak the same language. In a video released by IKEA, the Antwerp Six designer says that his textiles are based around a concept he calls Wondermooi |Flemish for "beautiful"|

Last weeks I visited the INK Hotel, one of Amsterdams latest lifestyle hotels. The architects of Concrete Amsterdam took us on a tour through the hotel, located in the former headquarters of the Dutch newspaper De Tijd. Themes such as ‘Stories, Ink & Time’ play a big role in the new story of INK Hotel Amsterdam and have been of great influence in the unconventional choices for interior.

Last month the ladies at fonQ invited me to an event organised by Dyson, as they wanted to give me one of their latest models as a blog birthday present. Now I’m not usually one to talk about electronic equipment or gadgets… But when I heard the Dyson V6 Fluffy is a cordless vacuum cleaner I couldn’t resist!

If you love music as much as I do, I am pretty sure you will know the feeling of getting totally lost in music. Music makes me happy and it revokes all kinds of emotions in me.
I have a long time love affair with Placebo, and I really enjoy listening to their songs. Listening to their music makes me feel strong en determined to get things done, on the other hand I can get really touched and emotional by certain songs, giving me the feeling all songs on the album are written just for me.

When Swedish fashion brand HOPE opened it doors last year in Amsterdam I was invited to be at the opening along some of the best Dutch influencers and to be honest I couldn't be happier with the big warm Poppy coat in my wardrobe when travelling to Iceland in March this year. It happened to be the perfect coat to create the Scandinavian look I love so much and to stay really warm.

Today I would love to take you to the Hamptons and have a peek in the Summer residence of Marcus Wainwright and his family... If this is their Summer residence I can only dream on how their 'real' home looks like. Marcus is the owner of American fashion label 'Rag & Bone' and fell in love with this former potato barn, located in Bridgehampton, 3 years ago.

On my last day in Milan I visited Ventura Lambrata and after 4 days walking and exploring all Milan design week has to offer I was really happy with the shuttle service between the main locations, after a small tour organised by Dutch interior magazine Elle decoration on which more later, I took the shuttle to Via Cletto Arrighi where this year's design-fashion merging was clearly present by a selection of double souled projects that merge fashion and design, research and craftsmanship, technique and reverie.

When it comes to buying small home accessories, I don’t usually have problems making a choice. My taste is pretty much established, I know exactly what kind of materials I like, and I know how to make everything blend in to my already existing interior. It’s not hard to build up a black iron cast candle collection!

I have always loved Dutch fashion label Laundry Industrie because of their strong black and white appearance and often popped in at their former store at Rokin. They recently opened a 550 sqm flagship store in the former society and landmark building 'Concordia' and I just posted some pictures off the store on my other blog and thought this store is to good to not show on here.
