Stone X Earth | Ceramic collection by July Adrichem

When looking at ceramic I always feel a need to touch and this collection by Julie was no exception when meetin her at the Elle Inside design festival in Amsterdam some time ago. Designed with a hint of elegance and a classic twist the stone collection is inspired by grey coloured river-stones, the matte outside of the Stone collection feels soft and at the same time strong while the inside feels smooth.

The Earth Collection as seen in the picture above is designed with a robust, organic touch and the shape of the bowls are inspired by Japanese design and old techniques. Dark brown clay brings us back to the time when people had no glaze and used a special technique to ‘close’ the clay, same as used for this collection.

I want to start a course for ceramic making, for a long time, but I don`t find time for this. This collection is great :) I like several things from the shop :)

These are in two colors, right? I like them that way :)

Beautiful work – it’s interesting how she works with different materials, products & methods yet still manages to stay true to her look/brand – I suppose it’s because all the work has a similar feel & emotion. And so tactile too – lovely . I absolutely agree with the problems with visual overload – I easily get oversaturated & have to get myself away from the screen. Things become so meaningless when you don’t limit your own consumption! Lola x
