Kvadrat Raf Simons event

You might wonder what this beautiful Norwegian landscape and the factory in the middle of nowhere has to do with Belgian fashion designer Raf Simons, I got explained at a recent Kvadrat Raf Simons event followed by a wonderful dinner in Amsterdam where senior design coordinator Anne Vilhelmine Ebessen explained how the textile used for the Kvadrat/Raf Simons collection is produced in this factory in Norway and showed us the detailed collection.

Raf Simons who graduated in Industrial Design and Furniture Design, got inspired to turn to fashion design after seeing Martin Margiela's all white show in Paris during Paris fashion week with Walter Van Beirendonck. With this collection he brings his
sense of style to the home.

Kvadrat: "Distinguished by the innovative blending of colour and materials for which he is known in the fashion world, Raf Simons’s first collection of textiles and accessories for the home is by turns sophisticated and playful,
and produced according to the exacting standards associated with Kvadrat.

For this first collection, Raf Simons chose to offer a refreshing alternative to the flat woven textiles commonly used in contemporary upholstery, creating richly textured, meticulously realised designs that bring a sculptural quality and a new tactility to furnishings"

Kvadrat maakt de allermooiste stoffen! Hun prachtige kleuren in combinatie met steeds fantastische kwaliteit, dat zie je niet vaak.
Alleen maakt het het kiezen zo moeilijk.
