Frites Atelier Amsterdam by Sergio Herman

Frites is one of Hollands most eaten snacks, being close to Belgium we got a lot of really good places to have a quick fried snack and it is pretty common to walk through town with a big fries with mayonaise. Most of the places where we buy them are not really outstanding interior wise. Sergio Herman,  owner of three Michelin stars in his former family restaurant Oud Sluis in Sluis thought it was about time to have a beautiful restaurant to make fries available for everyone.

In order to serve fries in a really beautiful place Piet Boon who also designed Sergio's beautiful restaurant The Jane in Antwerp was asked to design the Frites atelier Amsterdam. After searching for the perfect potato the first Frietes Atelier Amsterdam opened it's doors in The Hague and Utrecht, Antwerpen and the Amsterdam flagship store will follow soon... I can't wait because after tasting the food Sergio prepared I can imagine I have to prepare for the best fries ever.

A raw and industrial apartment in Copenhagen

I would love you to have a look at this raw and industrial apartment in Copenhagen, the home of Inge-Hanne Draw Anderson and her husband who bought this apartment in the modernized shipyard building Torpedohallen at Holmen 6 years ago. I can imagine they love it as it has everything I like, from the open space and the amazing entrance to the stars on their kitchen floor.  More pictures of the apartment and the whole story can be found at Bo Bedre: A raw apartment in Holmen

It's not about having time, it's about making it | 2017 planners

I have been pretty busy working on a very cool project this week, of which I hopefully can show you more of in the upcoming weeks. When working towards the deadline of a project I think planning is one of the most important things. These are the moments I love to use my Moleskine books, I always have a few at home and at the moment my notebooks and planner for both 2016 and 2017 are always by my side, I just love this pile of black books!

A minimalistic bathroom in a Tel aviv apartment

How do you like this bathroom, it is part of an 80 square meter apartment, located in the center of Tel Aviv by interior designers Yael Perry and Dafna Gravinsky, along with architect Amir Navon. Part of the renovation of this apartment included recreating the layout to create a bright living room, kitchen, and two master bedrooms. A truly minimalstic space for which all of the furniture and lighting was custom made by the designers. To keep the narrow apartment bright, they selected a light grey floor to go with the crisp white walls and black sofa, more pictures can be found at Designmilk

Rick Owens New York City store

Being a huge admirer of the Milan store of Rick Owens I love to share some pictures of the new New York Store at 30 Howard Street that recently opened it's doors. Just like in Milan we see lots of concrete and even more minimalistic white, which is also my favourite combination.

The New York store is mainly designed by Michelle, Rick's partner and consists of two floors. Shoes, bags, accessories and a series of new furniture pieces by Michelle Lamy (with Rick Owens’s name) wish I could bring a visit to the New York Store and see with
my own eyes!

Scandinavian Living X Nordikliving Style Event | Win free tickets

This last weekend I cleaned my patio, covered a few plants in bubble wrap, hoping they will survive the upcoming cold and installed some new lights... I love this time of the year when with lots of candles, and even more Christmas lights around the home and I am looking forward to cozy evenings at home.

Parts of Scandinavia are already covered in snow and with winter on it's way, next week's Nordic event organised by Nordikliving will certainly bring us in the right mood. A beautiful home at the vtwonen & designfair | Stijlvol wonen

With furniture by Minotti and B&B Italia the home of Stijlvol Wonen magazine at the vtwonen & Designbeurs had a comfertable Italian style, in the large cupboards different art and objects by Amsterdam based Baden Baden. While the vtwonen home was filled with hundreds of different home accessories and lots of colour, this home only needed a few accessories by brands like among others Flos, Menu, AndTradition and Bo Concept and walls painted in soft colours by Carta Colori and on the bathroom walls Carte Colori Beton CirĂ© was used

With Stijlvol Wonen being made in Belgian also some of my favourite Belgian brands and designers like Vincent van Duysen, Serax and the beautiful framed feathers by Couleur Locale were represented. My favourite part must have been the dark and cozy kitchen.
