A VIPP loft in Copenhagen you can call yours for the night

No need to say we enjoyed The Shelter, and looking at the amount of re-pins of our images on Pinterest you love it as well. The first night in Copenhagen we stayed at one of the other rooms of the Vipp Hotel. Actually you can hardly call it a room I guess as it is a true city loft apartment of 400m2 consisting of 2 bedrooms, a library, a huge living with a fireplace, a Vipp kitchen almost twice as big as the one in the shelter and two different dining spaces.

The Vipp loft is located on the top floor of the company’s offices, in a former printing factory from 1910 at Island Brygge. This area reminds me a lot of the harbour area where I live myself in Amsterdam, being a combination of authentic buildings and modern architecture connected to the city by bridges. From the loft it is only a 10 minutes walk across the bridge to find yourself in the city centre.

Studio David Thulstrupof

At the opening of the loft back in November I had the pleasure to learn more about the concept behind the space explained by David who is responsible for the design of the loft. From bringing back the original beams, that were all covered in white paint by the sewing atelier that had been hiring the space before, to the colour choices. I think the colour scheme in the Loft is so well done, the walls painted in a soft grey perfectly match the natural colour of the wood. The many plants surrounding the living area with its green couches and By Lassen chairs near the fireplace, add a green touch to the high building.

Like in the shelter you will find the whole Vipp collection in the loft combined with a few other brands, the kitchen accessories which are mostly black and white are perfectly mixed with different older brownish objects and wooden items all on display in an open shelving in the kitchen area. The brown Kvadrat curtains can be closed to create a cozy dining area.

Vipp Kitchen
I loved our stay at the loft and making dinner using the kitchen, being a lover of all things black and metal this kitchen comes close to my dream kitchen as you can imagine. The kitchen is just like the very first Vipp bin made out of steel, and literally everything is made by Vipp, a true masterpiece that comes only in black! Have a look at this video to learn more about making off the Vipp kitchen.

There are two bedrooms at the loft, of which one is connected to the bathroom. Most hotel rooms offer you soft towels and bathing products, I loved seeing different Aesop products for us to use at both the shelter and the loft, andI have to admit I was a bit tempted to take the mini bottles with me as you can in most hotels to refill my Aesop traveller set.

The spiral staircase leads to the mezzanine where a study and the second bedroom, a cozy space with dark walls and super soft bed linen, are located under the roof offering a total of four beds. More info about the loft and to book your stay can be found at the company’s website: Vipp hotel
