A tour around the Salone with Design Diffusion | Milan Designweek

Just like last year I had the pleasure to team up with Design Diffusion and join their tour around the Salone del Mobile. Although I love the fuorisalone of which I will make some more reports for the blog, visiting the actual Salone del Mobile is something totally different. This year visitors could also have a look at Eurocucina, focused on kitchen design and technology, and the international bathroom section which are organized every other year next to the actual Salone del mobile.

Milan based publishing group Design Diffusion organized the tour especially for a group of bloggers, most are friends of mine and we actually did a trend presentation together earlier this year at Domotex led by Holly Becker and as she said after visiting Milan Design week, our predictions were spot on! Together with the DDN crew we visited the stands of a selected group of brands where we got to see their new collections and learned more about their dna.

I was really happy to find some of my favourite brands in the line up for the day and we had a fantastic tour, enough time at every stand to make some quick pictures and a beautiful lunch in the Salones Red room! If you are on Instagram, you can still see some stories I made during the day. On the blog my selection of favourite pieces, new collections and brands we visited in this recap of the Salone. The 2018 Salone and Fuorisalone showed a record of visitors and I am glad I spent a day at the actual Salone, thank you Design Diffusion for the invite!

It's a wrap | Milan Design week favourites part 1 | Club Unseen

Milan Design week is over... can we do it all over again? What a fantastic six days of design inspiration I had together with my yearly Milano mates. I found so many great new brands and designers to write about, and as Milan is the place to network I also had some meetings together with our w/ Style agency. One thing remains the same year after year though, it is always hard to select the best pictures and decide what to write about on the blog.

MIIRA collection by Danish NUURA

I got a sneak peek earlier this year of Nuura during a meeting at imm where I was for a few days to cover imm and present the tour I wrote for them. Nuura is a new Danish brand that created a range of lighting collections  inspired by the Nordic light, made out of carefully chosen materials of the highest quality. From the different collections I'd say that the MIIRA line is definitely my favourite at the moment.

MIIRA
The unique and Nordic lighting collection, Miira, is created in a simple and timeless design. The lamps complement each other, and each one helps create a unique Nordic feel. The Miira collection is designed with the chandelier at its centre and expands into a complete series of light. It can be used everywhere from private homes to large exclusive interior decorations. Miira means beautiful vision and designed by the awarded Danish lighting designer, Sofie Refer // text & pictures by NUURA//

Degree by Cecilie Manz for Reform Copenhagen

Reform Copenhagen was one of the many highlights when visiting last years Three days of Design in Copenhagen. The showroom is located outside the city centre in a raw and industrial environment away from the crowd and I loved hanging out a bit longer and have a coffee outside in the sun.

Danish Common launches first collection

This week Danish Common launched their first collection of seating options! None of these look alike as Common works with several designers coming from different disciplines. They have in common that they all dream about how they might enrich people’s lives through design, and are chosen to collaborate with because they know how to make great skyscrapers, clothing, and things people live in or with daily.

Serax expands 'La Nouvelle Table' with Meal X 3

‘La Nouvelle Table’ by Merci for Serax is one of the collections I am really enthusiastic about and daily use at home. I guess it is the ultimate dinnerware to slowly expand without feeling to guilty to spent a fortune on, buying a piece every now and then. I have to admit I love the small piles of dishes and plates on display in my kitchen and can get really happy just looking at them. If you have no idea where I am talking about have a look at this post I wrote previously: La Nouvelle table | New dinnerware by Merci for Serax and go here if you like to purchase some yourself

Bedlinen in different shades of grey from Couleur Conceptstore

Last week I gave you a sneak peek of my bedroom update, plastering ceilings throughout the house and getting rid of the ugly and old fashioned ceilings from the eighties was something that really made a difference. Painting the wall in a beautiful grey and updating the mattresses as I showed in this post last week A bedroom make over for Spring | My home was the next step. With the grey wall I also wanted to update the bedlinen, adding something special to the room.

The bedlinnen by Linge Particulier has been on my wish list for some time.... I have been drooling over it even maybe for some years during my Parisien shopping adventures. Luckily Couleur Locale had the right colour I was looking for in their bedlinnen collection and I choose 2 different shades of grey, perfectly fitting the wall behind the bed and a small ochre pillow that fits the gold from the poster by Paper Collective as shown in the post.

“Linge Particulier” pre-washed linen is made of flax, it feels warm in winter and cool in summer. After washing (at 40 degrees) it becomes even more supple. It’s anti-allergic and no-iron! Couleur locale has a collection of (fitted) sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases all in beautiful linen.

I can't wait to experience with the different bedlinen and maybe do a completely different look once Summer arrives, but I am also thinking of something more brownish. More info at the Couleur Locale  website and online store where you will find a variety of exclusive items for your home, curated by the shop owners during their many travels through Africa.

New 101 Copenhagen collection | SS 2018

101 Copenhagen launched their collection at Maison & Objet last September, a range of accessories including glass vases, handcrafted dinnerware, wooden bowls, trays, mirrors, and small storage objects. I saw the collection at the pop up store in Copenhagen 101 COPENHAGEN X NORR11 Pop up Store in Copenhagen. Recently we saw a few new additions to the popular Sphere series and I totally love them, more of the new collection can be found here
