A catalogue comes to life!

Last week I was invited to a press conference in Haarlem, a little town near Amsterdam, to mark the release of the 2013 IKEA Catalogue. We were welcomed to the event with a delicious Swedish lunch. As well as getting lots of information, these events are great for meeting up with fellow bloggers as well. I made a report for my blog over at the IKEA Live website read it here: A catalogue comes to live!  Update: the IKEA family live blog is no longer online

Vogue Fashion night

Vogue is having a Fashion Night on September 13 in collaboration with the Bijenkorf, one of  Amsterdam biggest and most beautiful stores. What an amazing shop window at the Bijenkorf this is. I love the reflection of the houses in the window.... those are the moments I love living the city live.

&Styling interiors {& Styling guestpost}

Before starting the last round of giveaways in our Summer series (starting Sept 3rd) I invited Ineke van de Berg for a guest post. Ineke runs interior agency &Styling for some years and she is a very experienced interior stylist. I know Ineke for over 5 years online and I have seen lots of her beautiful interiors. Paris through the eyes of a photographer

Did you ever experienced the feeling of finding a blog and getting totally lost in it for hours? I got that the other night, it always seem to happen the nights you will try to go to bed early isn't it ;)  When everything around you is quiet and you are flipping through the pages and admiring beautiful shots, one after another.... Reading the words of photographer Hannah Lemholt and looking at her beautiful pictures  can only make you dream.

I love the few pictures she shot in Paris... one of my favorite towns and I can't wait to be wandering around again in a couple of weeks... dreaming of Paris just always feels so fine.

Concrete - wood - simplicity

Concrete and wood is just a stunning combination in my eyes. I made these pictures last year during Elle inside design in Amsterdam... houses, some already lived in and some still totally unfinished , like the one used in these pictures ,were the decor for designers of all kind. I loved the work of this Belgium company called Studio Simple All their objects have a relation with simplicity. More pictures from Elle Inside design 2011 in my Pinterest album.

Americana in Amsterdam {Hudson River}

Yesterday I made some pictures at Hudson River, a shop in the center of Amsterdam filled with vintage furniture and Americana... The perfect place if you love huge metal industrial signs and  other unusual furniture and decoration for your home. It is also the address to shop stars like I have on my kitchen wall! Many more pictures to be found on my other site

An industrial loft in London {old sewing factory}

Simon Lee en Solenne de la Fouchardiere lived in Paris but when they came across this old factory they moved to London. The Loft apartment on the top floor of an old sewing factory, is raw and industrial but with flee market finds, design classic and a little French touch that I spot, it has become a warm place to live in. This home must have gone all over the internet for a year or two mayby... but if I see a home that suits me and my blog I can't help myself ....

10 Corso Como {calling all hipsters}

Totally forgotten about the pictures from our 10 Corso Como adventure last April in Milan... So here they are. Not of the best quality as taking pictures in the store was forbidden, so they are all a  bit of a sneaky taken.

10 Corso Como is a multifunctional concept dedicated to art, fashion, music, design, cuisine and culture. Founded in 1990 in Milan by gallerist and publisher Carla Sozzani.

Anouk, me and a friend were totally in love with the Corso Como concept. When going through the old wooden doors at Corso Como 10 you enter a really nice courtyard with lots of green and terraces. And the entrance of the shop and the restaurant.

First stop was the restaurant where we enjoyed a really wonderful lunch from the special Salone del Mobile card. Note the oil can in the typical Corso Como style... all designed by American artist Kris Ruhs who is responsible for the typical 10 Corso Como logo. I have bought a white bag with it that stands on top of my locker: see Painting a locker inspired by Milano and some posters with the logo. The bag where the bag went in was huge but is great to use as decoration: Dots and lamps

I think you should always bring a visit to the toilet when visiting a special place like Corso Como.... It might sound really weird, but shops like these are just full of surprises in all corners.

 A sneak peek of the ground floor
Upstairs many  wonderful books and illustrations, when we were there there was an Alice Springs exhibition.

The next morning I went back to join the opening of the Krish Ruhs exhibition with an unexpected but delicious breakfast.

Da Wanda NL Design market + A Lilesadi giveaway

Last Sunday I went to the  DaWanda NL Design market at the Meininger Hotel in Amsterdam. We were invited to join their blogmeeting and it was great to see some of the bloggers again and have a little chat in the sun. I bought a nice concrete bowl and some paper present bags from Betonscherepapier *. You can find Dawanda online in English or if you are in the Netherlands the new site in Dutch

Here are some of my favorites and a really nice giveaway for you at the bottem of this post by Lilesadi

DaWanda is an online marketplace for handmade design and from last week online in Holland. 100 rooms at the Meininger Hotel turned into small DaWanda design shops. There were lots of different designers and I think something for every ones taste.

I also really loved Lilesadi a collaboration between twins Sarah and Dinah and I am happy to have them with a  giveaway on the blog today. Thank you girls!

Giveaway from Lile Sadi

We are Sarah and Dinah of Studio Lilesadi. We founded in February 2011 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. When Dinah came to live here as well we knew the moment had finally come to start with our dream of an own label!

The name Lilesadi consists of our forenames of Dinah Lisa and Sarah Lena. We share the same passion of bringing pureness and poesy in chaotic everyday life. We would describe our style as a fushion between floral and graphic, minimal and poetic. Lilesadi is cooperating with companies such as wallpaper producer Photowall, but we love to produce a tiny collection of cushions and accessoires ourselves.

In our giveaway you can win an illustration in poster size. Just leave a comment under this post on Vosgesparis and let us know which one you would like to have... You can choose between the End of Summer poster or the Wonderbear poster you see below. Have a closer look at it in the shop where you also will find many more of our design.

This giveaway is now closed, congratulations to Samira, Lilisadi choose you as the winner.

VT Wonen home {back in 2007}

Cleaning out old files on my computer I came across some pictures I made in 2007 at the 'Woonbeurs' It was way before I even started the blog so I never showed them on here. The pictures are made at the upper floor of the VT Wonen home. It was a beautiful some kind of outdoor space with a kitchen in grey and reclaimed wood and a long zinc bassin, all very basic and natural. Forgive me for my photographing skills back then and the small and strange proportioned pictures. But I still think this rooftop was really charming.

Today the New VT Wonen arrived with the Woonbeurs special in it. This year will be the 20th edition of this Dutch
exibition for indoor and outdoor living. If you can make it to Amsterdam between September 25 -30, I think you should definitely bring a visit. Under the 'woonbeurs' tag you can find some more pictures I made over the last years.
