Copenhagen meets Merci

Copenhagen meets Merci
As much as I love Merci teaming up with my favourite designer Paola Navone in Milan or Paris, I love to see the new exhibition TAK a day in Copenhagen showcasing a selection of 100% Denmark at the Parisian conceptstore

Copenhagen definitely stole my heart when I first visited the town 2 years ago. Something I really love about Scandinavia, is the food and I love to think back on all the delicious small dishes, the sweets and coffee we had during our Copenhagen design tour with my fellow blogger friends.

Concrete... plants and coffee | new years resolution #1

I made a few new years resolutions and one of them is adding some more greens to my home... I am not really following trends as in changing things at home because it is the latest trend but I guess we pick up things, and sometimes there's a moment you suddenly know how you could translate inspiration into something new for your home.

A white loft in Amsterdam

When having a look at the pictures Amsterdam based photographer Barbara Iweins sent me I was immediately in love with the way she displayed the art and books in her overall white home. You might have seen some of her work in last friday's post! If you missed it have a look here: A photographers project | Au coin de ma rue

Having seen lots of homes from the inside in Amsterdam I can perfectly imagine the layout of the three floored house. I have runnend up and down stairs like the ones above for many years when living in the Vondelpark area as a kid.

Room on the Roof at the Bijenkorf

You might have noticed the little tower on the roof of Amsterdam's most famous and recently modernised store "De Bijenkorf " Over the last 100 years the tower has never been used, but things are changing and from today the sixteen square meter tower room will become the workspace of different artists, writers, musicians, architects and designers selected by The Bijenkorf in collaboration with the Rijksmuseum. The Artist in Residence project  ‘Room On The Roof’ will start with Maarten Baas being the first artist using the studio...

The wooden installation, designed bij i29 interior architects contains several all functions designers will need, while the other side of the room is left totally white.

i29 interior architects | Single-family apartment in Amsterdam

Awarded i29 interior architects designed this family apartment in Amsterdam. The thing with those pretty perfect places is that each time I post a home like this on the blog, I don't feel like exactly copying but it feeds my imagination with ideas on things I could do in my own home.

A photographers project | Au coin de ma rue

Love to show you some of the pictures of Barbara Iweins project 'Au coin de ma rue' today. Barbara is an Amsterdam based photographer and her project is based on her obsession with strangers and her drive to find out more about each individual passer-by. She decided to embrace this obsession and capture some of these people 7 years ago. She bought a camera and a 50mm fixed lens and simply started to ask and immediately realised that it would not be as easy she thought.

A Copenhagen home | Shaun & Lene of Skandinavisk

After presenting you our new KOTO Family earlier this week, I thought it was fun to show you some pictures of the home of Skandinavisk owner Shaun and his wife Lene. As most of the homes I saw in Copenhagenalso the home is furnished with a mix of Danish Design classics, lots of greens and some vintage elements. If you have a closer look, you can spot the scented candles and ceramic by Skandinavisk throughout the home, and don't you just love the big black piano!

New collaborations by Design bloggers United X Skandinavisk

Really proud of our Design Bloggers United collaboration with Skandinavisk! KOTO, the large scented candle we made earlier has become such a succes it now has a little family!

Consisting of a really beautiful reed diffuser, I am in love with that cute black bottle! and the KOTO 190 grams candle, a smaller version with one wick instead of the large KOTO with 4 wicks. Thank you all so much for making this happen!

KOTO has turned out to be one of the most popular scents next to RO and are joined by new creations DAG (day) and NAT (night). A 3rd scent - LEMPI - is introduced as a 190gr scented candle. LEMPI is the traditional Finnish word for love, in the days when love was shamelessly romantic and best enjoyed in black and white.

Rundholz Antwerp

After the lunch event at Graanmarkt 13, I spent some more time at Antwerp and went for some window shopping. I loved how fashion brand Rundholz decorated their store with paper bags and puppets dressed in black.

A Danish home with rustic elements

My eye caught the picture of this old table, partly painted black and partly revealing it's original color again. I love these kind of pieces as they bring a rustic touch to the home. It might also be these kind of pictures that is keeping me from finally getting rid of that old table, that I have banished to the garden last year... or maybe even 2 years ago. The picture brought me to Annie's blog Stylejuicer and are originally from Boligmagasinet

Grant & Johnson | Minimalistic yet rich... spectacular yet sober

While visiting the Hallen to make some pictures for a few posts for Amsterdam Next My eye caught the beautiful new Grand & Johnson store. Sometimes when seeing only a glimpse of a store my heart can make a jump! knowing I found something that is so close to my taste, and I have to go in!

The Grand & Johnson store is a long-cherished dream of two designers who will use the store as the home base for their design studio, where they will work on unique interior design projects. It will also be a store for their own designs, and custom-made baths, cupboards and dressers.

An extraordinary white restaurant like you have never seen before!

It is not really often I add an exclamation mark to the title of a blogpost, but when discovering extraordinary restaurant Hueso in Mexico I kept staring at the pictures! Hueso is Spanish for bone and the name couldn't be any better for this restaurant located in a 1940's lofty place.

My deer artshop | B&W Prints ...Postcards and dipped artworks

Last month I was at a small festival in Haarlem, a really cute small town close to Amsterdam, where I re-discovered My Deer artshop I had met Maaike Koster, the creative talent behind the My Deer shop at Piet Hein Eek last year when competition winners of the Histor challenge came to paint. I really loved what she did with the cupboard keeping it very simple and minimal

A huge 2015 clipboard | Time to turn this place upside down

Welcome on the other side.. 2015! A full year ahead of us... did you made some new years resolutions yet? For Christmas I re-used last years side table made from plywood and metal trestles. I painted the plywood black and added both sleets against the wall functioning as a temporary black wall and background for Christmas lights, pictures, candles and a small tree.
