Botanic shelf By Riikka Kantinkoski & Pinja Rouger

I am looking into some simple shelving system lately, as I think it could be the solution for bringing together the different objects styled throughout my home, I love the different corners but sometimes I think an object I love to put on display might even look better when not surrounded by to many other things. During my search I came across the Botanic shelf by Riikka Kantinkoski and Pinja Rouger.

The system that consists of an oak frame and variable brass sheet shelves can function as a traditional book shelf, but also as a room divider. Seeing the brass brough back some memories of me and Riikka strolling through Modular in Berlin, a shop for designers, makers and crafts, for way to long drooling over all the brass and copper. With it´s customizable structure the BOTANIC shelf offers space and support to plants creating a shelving system different from all other.

Ferm Living | A/W 2016 collection

I am a huge fan of daybeds and the other week I stumbled upon a real beauty in grey by Ferm Living! Reason enough to have a good look through the new 2016 Autumn/Winter collection of the Danish brand by Trine Anderson. This collection again shows some real beautiful lifestyle accessories and some great new furniture pieces. Today some of the highlights on the blog

The new 'Collect' lighting series is an interchangeable lighting system that allows you to create your own lamp by selecting your favourite lampshade and pair it with a socket pendant of your choice. A small example of the endless choices in the picture above and below and more here // Collect Lightning //

How do you like the 'Turn' daybed, a great example of minimalistic design, and I simply love the leather belts keeping the cushion, that can be used also the other way around, in it's place. Just beautiful!

There is a matching sofa and to complete your sitting area the all new 'Herman Lounge chair", pictured below, would be a good match, in black of course for me but also available in grey from October 2016.

The new 'Haze vitrine', a freestanding cabinet crafted from sleek powder coated metal and textural armoured glass is definitely one of my favourites. I just love the material and it would look great in every room from the kitchen, dining and living to the bathroom, unfortunately my own bathroom is way to small to ever add a cabinet.  Have a look at the complete collection in the new online catalogue Ferm Living catalogue

An Industrial chic restaurant | Hangar Amsterdam

Living in the Eastern Docklands the former Amsterdam harbour, I do not cross the IJ river to the Amsterdam North area really often but the other day when I was on my way to buy some flowers in a tiny shop at KNSM Island I thought it would be nice to cross the water and finally check out Hangar Amsterdam

The restaurant by Tim Immers, owner of restaurant Moustache (and Studio Pistache, which does ring a bell for you who came to our Blogger dinner maybe) and Jop Pollmann is build out of corrugated sheet and with the look of an old hangar perfectly fitting it's industrial surroundings.

Not only was I amazed how well the colours of the steel were chosen, the lamps, and even the linen tablecloth all perfectly blended together. The interior is designed by Stella Willing is a perfect combination of rawness and style, beautiful chairs and tables with marble tabletops while the mirrored walls, the old wooden cabinet, doors and copper bar with barstools found in Paris bring in some warmth.

Hangar is open for coffee and pie, but also for lunch, dinner and cocktails till late. The terrace has a lounge area with a view on the IJ.

Hangar Amsterdam - Aambeeldstraat 36 - 1021 KB Amsterdam
Open from 10AM till late
Reservations : or +31 (0)20 3638657

A Stylish home in the Netherlands | Mariska Jagt design

Mariska Jagt is a Dutch interior designer who believes beauty is within the details, with a background in psychology, hospitality and travel, she found the perfect mix that brings all together in designing personal and sophisticated designs for her clients.

This home she designed caught my eye because of the large WDSTCK table and my all time favourite lamp by my sweet friends of Ay Illuminate. Creating contrast with new design, antiques and different shades of gray the home has a fresh and clean look that can be found throughout the whole home including the bedroom and the childrens room. I can imagine a family living here, lounging on the elements couch, children's toys and books laying around and some big green plants to make it a real family home. More of Mariska's work can be found at Mariska Jagt design

Fatboy outdoor collection | PATIO update

Some time ago I showed you my patio wish list, I thought it was real fun to make and I hope you got inspired for your own garden maybe. After my last update a few days ago I love to show you on how it looks now.

Fatboy Formitable
If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen the small patio table already, it is the 'XS Formitable' by Fatboy, an affordable and cute table for a small corner, but if you have more place or just want a bigger table there is also the larger version the 'Formitable XL' which also offer the possibility of adding a parasol.

Also if you are looking for a parasol only with an elegant matching base, I would really recommend you to have a look at the site, the bases and parasols come in many colours including this black striped one. Once you are at the site have a look at the concrete seats as well, we used them during a blogger dinner and they are great for your garden too.

Fatboy is a Dutch label with a large collection of in and outdoor furniture including some really iconic pieces, often big and colourful, with surprising newcomers every year and unforgettable classics in fresh prints and indestructible fabrics.
Have a look at the collection at the Fatboy website

I tried repotting the grown bamboo from my garden, to created a small corner with it, but it was really hard so I got my self some grasses and will look for a new bamboo and give it some time to grow. Behind the table and chairs some green hanging over the fence will hide the transition between the wall and fence but like with all greens it will take time to grow. Still working on this green corner.

With the white tiles and fence I choose for black furniture and pots. The black bench I bought some time ago at IKEA and is from the Viktigt collection, one of the best collections from this year so far if you ask me. The chairs I found last year in Spain during one of my blogtrips when we visited Spanish Actiu and come in many colours. They are really comfortable and after selling all my white kitchen chairs I have used them in my kitchen all winter.
