Join us at The Hoxton design event on February 4

showroom of one of our selected brands for the Hoxton space

It has been a long time since I wrote so few blogs in one month, I normally try to post minimal three times a week, with travelling to Copenhagen, and working at both Domotex and imm Cologne this month I simply could not find the time. Luckily there was Instagram and I hope you liked following me on Stories and on the imm account I took over for a day, I will show you some more from imm and the new collections I spotted soon. Meanwhile I had a meeting at the beautiful space above together with Beeldsteil for some future collaborations including this next weekend's Hoxton Design Event.

The new Scandinavian | imm Cologne 2018

After bringing my personal style to life during the Bloggers’ Trend Show last year, I have been asked to come back to imm Cologne and share my personal design highlights in a Trade fair tour for the 2018 fair in Cologne. As said every theme needs a name and I called mine 'The new Scandinavian' giving visitors the opportunity to see some of my favourite brands.

Travel w/ Style | The Vipp Shelter - A minimalistic getaway

In November I attended the opening party of the Vipp Hotel in Copenhagen, not knowing that only a few weeks later I would experience the first two locations of the Vipp Hotel myself together with Wen van Woudenberg of Beeldsteil celebrating our new agency w/ Style

A lot happend since then and this week we added a new section to our site 'Travel w/ Style', where we share everything travel related. We are kicking off our series with the Vipp Hotel and I will share both locations on Vogesparis for you to drool or maybe book, starting today with the Vipp Shelter.

I am a long time follower of Vipp, and I first got to visit their flagship store in Copenhagen five years ago with a team of international bloggers where I learned about the family history and the famous Vipp bin the whole Vipp line started with. Since then Vipp not only produced bins but also bathroom and kitchen accessories, an extensive kitchen with all conveniences and the ultimate getaway, the shelter.

Fun times followed by visits to Paris for the launch of the limited edition Vipp bin in collaboration with Merci and now getting the chance to experience the Vipp Hotel and kitchen.
If you ever consider a Vipp kitchen, spending time at the Vipp hotel is the ultimate test drive!

A minimalistic getaway at lake Immeln, Sweden
On a stormy day when most flights were cancelled we flew to Copenhagen and spent the night at the Vipp loft I visited earlier. The next morning we drove up to Sweden, a 2 hours ride from Copenhagen leading us to Lake Immeln.

At the lake, surrounded by only a few homes we found total silence and a path leading us to the waterside and the shelter, it was so amazing to finally see this black beauty, completely made out of steal, with my own eyes. The shelter is a 55 square meter one room getaway with a kitchen, dining and living room area, bathroom and a mezzanine bed loft. Windows from floor to ceiling on both sides, including the roof above the bed give you the feeling to be one with nature.

The shelter is totally furnished with Vipp furniture, lamps and accessories giving you the total Vipp experience. I really enjoyed walking barefoot on the grey floors with floor heating, while heating up the fire and seeing the darkness fall in. It was a long time ago I felt so relaxt and one with nature, especially at night when I woke up with a huge moon above the lake and the only sound I heard was the call of the owls. Just an amazing experience which I think you should experience for yourself.

Book the Shelter
The next morning we had breakfast at the huge table, and opened one side of the shelter giving us the possibility to just step out of the window and walk towards the lake. This trip wil be on my mind for a long time and I think it is the ultimate getaway for a total offline experience.

Book the shelter at the Vipp hotel site and also check out the Vipp Loft, I will show you the pictures we made there while spending two days in Copenhagen next week. Meanwhile check out Beeldsteil and our website for more pictures.

Tisca Rugs by Lotta Agaton Interiors | Domotex

Bringing textures into my home is something I am still working on as you might know, and I love the idea of a huge white carpet on a dark floor, combining the best of both my love for dark, and light.

I have seen many carpets at Domotex where I was together with a team of international bloggers. Find out here what we did DOMOTEX | Framing Trends & How to collaborate with bloggersLike most of us I really loved the presentation of Tisca rugs styled by Lotta Agaton Interiors, which once again showed how important styling and adding the right props and furniture can be for a brand when designing their stand as lots of people were making pictures of the presentation.

Tisca is a Transylvanian brands producing hand-woven rugs that are woven in linen weave and therefore equally beautiful on both sides and can be reversed as often as you like. With 26 structures from single classic single flat to woven material right up to opulent structural landscapes or modern patterns and over 90 colours, there is a carpet for everyone. The image above shows Bella Lotta, made in collaboration with Lotta Agaton with a combination of different structures in light colours.

DOMOTEX | Framing Trends & How to collaborate with bloggers

I am back from Hannover where I spent some days on invitation of DomotexWith a small group of bloggers we visited several brands and joined two discussions for the audience at the "Framing Trends" area, led by Holly Becker. Although I expected a small fair there were actually more halls then I expected and many... many more carpets from all over the world than I ever saw. At fairs like this you can't focus on everything, so I was glad we had a small tour where we visited some of the brands that were selected for us, including one of my personal favourite brands I mentioned earlier in this post.

Introducing w/ Style | my new collaboration

2018 is on it's way! And as said before I couldn't think of a better way to kick of the year than travelling to Copenhagen , and Sweden with w/ Style, our new company, on invitation of Danish kitchen manufacturer Vipp! Over the last years I have been working with both Dutch and international leading brands and Design fairs, I love to collaborate, not only with selected brands but also with fellow bloggers and other creatives. I truly think that we can inspire each other and let's face it, working together is just more fun than sitting in front of your laptop on your own.

It's almost ten years I keep Vosgesparis up and running on my own, the emails with 'hi team' or 'can you connect me with your ceo' still make me laugh, as many people think there is a whole team behind Vosgesparis, sorry to disappoint you, it is just me! Don't get me wrong, I love being a bit of an einzelgänger and can perfectly work alone but sometimes it is nice to connect and talk about your work with someone who is in the same position.

Introducing w/ Style
Some years ago I connected with Wen van Woudenberg, the creative mind, photographer, (photo) stylist and owner of photography and visual concept studio beeldSTEIL. After annual trips to Milan Design week, countless cups of coffee all year round, and collaborations on different projects, we decided to team up and work together.

Although we both have our unique style, we share an interest in minimalism and interior design, by working together we inspire each other. 'w/ Style' is our collaborative project and we are looking forward on all things to come, and of course we would love to work with you. Collaborating brings out the best in both of us, the results of which can be seen in our new project and exciting plans for 2018.

Both of us will actively maintain our individual brands and blogs but we aim to collaborate as much as possible, expanding the online coverage and impact, with three websites, two blogs and multiple social media channels.

Learn more about us and how we work at our brand new website w/ Style

Ultra Black is the new Black | Philips 4k OLED Television

Hello from Sweden, where I am currently enjoying the amazing Vipp shelter, total silence, trees, stones, mos, a lake and a cozy fire burning all evening. In my previous post I mentioned we got a new television over Christmas, and did you noticed I painted a wall in my living deep black? I have to admit that after discovering the size of the new television, I thought it would be best to paint the wall behind it as dark as possible, a good excuse also to go back to black as I really missed a dark wall at home.

I love this ambience, black always feels a little chique,
almost like a hotel lobby, everything black in front of it kind of disappears and everything else really stands out. The Philips 4K Oled television is huge, I never had a television this big and really do not fancy most of them. This one made out of aluminium and steel is a real design object though which even if you are like me, not into gadgets but do love design, really can appreciate.

This Summer I changed the layout of my living and for the first time since I live here my couch doesn't stand in front of the long wall or the window, remember I created the six meter bench! This means that the television is two meters further away and not longer part of the sitting area I created, and it's not always easy to read subtitles when watching a movie or your favourite series.

I have been told that thanks to the ultra black pixels and the Ambilight light effects of the Philips 4K Oled, the result is the clearest and most vivid picture Philips ever had to offer and watching from a further distance has become way easier now, this gives me so much more options for the layout of my living. I do love to watch television but really does not fancy a sitting area designed around it.

Nothing can beat a black wall and I totally love this new corner in my living, as you can see I improvised a bit and I still need to hang the television on the wall or find a fitting cabinet for it, I haven't decide yet, and thought I could shop for inspiration at one of the interior fairs I will be visiting in January, any tips and ideas are welcome!
