A String Installation and more Sectie C | Dutch design week 2016

Visiting Sectie C during Dutch Design week I also walked into the creative space of Collaboration O, an Eindhoven based collective of 14 Designers that work as a team , supporting one another while following their own individual paths.

Corradino Garofalo is a designer with a background in industrial design, his practice focuses on creating analogies between material behaviour and the behaviour of the individual within society. His fascination for film, photography, video projections and video installations has led him to a multidisciplinary approach towards design. I was impressed by his work exhibited in the creative space Collaboration O.

String Instalation by Crioll design studio
Crioll design studio made an installation using the String Shelfing system at sectie C. I really loved the paintings on the wall in combination with a selection of furniture and accessories you will find in their design boutique, located in Eindhoven they sell a curated selection of contemporary design objects for your home and office.

Fran Lebowitz is known for her sardonic social commentary on American life as filtered through her New York City sensibilities. Since the 1970s, writer Fran Lebowitz has been one of New York City’s most important social critics. In 2010, HBO aired ‘Public Speaking’, a Martin Scorsese-directed documentary in which Lebowitz opines with characteristic trenchancy on everything from the touristification of Times Square to the concept of fame to her dislike of digital clocks.

At Sectie C I discovered the work of Roel Geboers who has been making four posters to capture
the insight of Fran Lebowitz her opinions after seeing the Martin Scorsese documentary. The poster showing the 2 candidates running for president of the US and Fran’s opinion made me smile. “I never have loved her more. Everyone has to love her now! Because she’s what stands between us and Donald Trump as the president of the United States” Have a look at Roel’s work at Gorillasalad
