Previously in a former slaughterhouse during last year’s Salone and an abandoned military hospital in 2022 Alcova 2024 took place in two of the most extraordinary villas of the Milan metropolitan area: Villa Borsani and Villa Bagatti Valsecchi.
Villa Borsani, completed in 1945, is a Modernist architectural masterpiece by Italian architect and furniture designer Osvaldo Borsani, who built the villa to use as a family home. The villa nowadays serves as a center for the Archivio Osvaldo Borsani. With its lush gardens and distinctive elements like a fireplace by Argentinian sculptor Lucio Fontana, the villa is an exceptional example of Modernist design.
It was the first of the two villa’s we visited and I was blown away by its architecture and wonderful floors and staircases. If you would like to see more, I posted some images and videos also on Instagram stories when visiting.
