The Collectible Edit | The Mush Collection by KILZI

After every exhibition or fair I visit, a few designers always really stick with me. These are the ones who caught my eye amidst the often enormous array of design pieces, handmade items, or ingenious furniture. I truly appreciate every designer with a passion for their work. Writing about everyone after a fair is impossible, and for an overview of what caught my eye, you can always check my highlights on my Instagram, as I create one for almost every fair I visit.

Also my new EDITS, consisting of the Collectible edit where I showcase fairs, exhibitions, and temporary design platforms, and the Gallery EDIT, a curated selection of galleries, exhibitions, and art spaces, explored city by city. Both show my personal impressions. Today I love to introduce you to KILZI, who I first saw at Alcova and recently at Collectible 2026, I had a closer look at his website to learn more about the collection I saw in Brussels.

Mush collection by KILZI

The Mush collection by KILZI explores organic form through a series of softly sculptural lamps. Their rounded silhouettes recall the quiet growth of mushrooms in nature, translating this gentle movement into lighting objects that feel calm and almost alive within a space.

Handcrafted in Spain, each lamp is made with layers of organic fibres, resin and fibreglass. This creates a textured surface that looks a bit like delicate paper fibres. The material reacts softly to light and shows small differences created by the handmade process. Because of this, each lamp is slightly different, making every piece unique.

When lit, the lamps emit a soft and diffused glow that creates a warm and calming atmosphere. Rather than functioning as a strong light source, the Mush lamps behave more like luminous objects that shape the mood of a room. The collection consists of several variations that explore the same language of form in different proportions, from smaller, more compact versions to larger sculptural pieces designed to stand more prominently in a space.
