Handmade Sculptural object ‘Modder Mindful’

Perfectly imperfect, inspired by the Japanese philosophy wabi-sabi, and an homage to her mother, Dutch designer Françoise Jeffrey creates sculptural objects that invoke moments of tranquility.

Objects are handmade, coil built, organically shaped and unique in their own imperfect way. To maintain the purity of her work ‘Modder Mindful’ is unglazed allowing the texture and earthy tones of the clay to remain visible.

The names of her pieces, combined with the organic forms, occasionally daring balanced compositions and the unglazed skin, make her works vulnerable but powerful. Exactly what the maker has in mind with her work
