A Terrace apartment in Black & White by Pamela Makin
I ended 2015 with a beautiful white winter home and after seeing the picture above I couldn’t wait to start the year with another great stylish home in my favourite colour scheme. Sometimes you can recognize a designers signature and especially a designer with a style really close to your own. I immediately guessed this was a project by Pamela Makin of Les Interieurs. If you like this style have a look at this post about Les Interieurs I posted three years ago.

This renovated 1870s apartment in Sydney is designed by Pamela and is clearly wearing her signature. The overal white apartment is furnished with different design pieces from among others Marcel Wanders, Philippe Starck, and Flos and selected tribal artwork and items from Pamela’s own hand and store Les Interieurs. Greens can be find throughout the whole apartment but only one or two colour pops

On Vogue I read what Pamela had to say about her style and the use of colour: “If someone said to me,‘I love your look, but I want a more colourful house’, I would have to advise that I use colour only as a little punctuation mark,” she says, pointing to this project’s ‘Lowlife’ ottoman from MCM House, tan sofa and tribal artworks from Les Interieurs. “But they come to me for my style, which is typically layered-on white — that wonderful neutral that makes everything so clean, so easy and so peaceful.” How do you like this style?
