Visited ‘layers of Time’ today together with m

Visited ‘layers of Time’ today together with my daughter at @paleissoestdijk . The exhibition by @botanical_tales_collective shows the visualization of 6 artists and their personal connection with plants and trees.

@marisa_klaster Klaster invited me to see her work. For the exhibition she was given the opportunity to work with lost trees from the forest of Paleis Soestdijk for a year. With this she created various objects. Next to the creations made with @natasja_van_der_meer with who she forms @merging_matter_atelier #layersoftime #botanicaltales #paleissoestdijk On view until April 27.

New blog online 👈 In one of my favorite locations during Milan Design Week, at the 5Vie headquarters on Via Cesare Correnti, Beni Rugs presented ‘Intersection’ a new collection of rugs designed by Paris and Marrakech-based architecture firm Studio KO.

Intersection is an ode to memory, told through ten motifs inspired by the quiet poetry of everyday relics — redacted documents, handwritten notes, diaries, and faded gestures in ink. new blog online 👈 A former furniture factory in Varedo (in between the Alcova venues) was transformed into a platform for new contemporary design and the second edition of ‘Good Design’ The group exhibition brought together over 60 international designers in a spirit of collaboration and networking. Conceived as a laboratory for encounters and exchanges, the exhibition brought together talents from all over Europe and beyond, offering an insight into contemporary creation in all its forms.

This whole week I will be posting from @alcova.milano and @milandesignweek On the blog another article where you can find out more about selected designers from this years exhibitions at Villa Bagatti Valsecchi

Every year during Milan Design Week, Alcova invites us into unexpected places—spaces where time seems to stand still and design breathes new life into forgotten architecture. Today I would love to take you along visiting Villa Bagatti Valsecchi.

Wandering through the villa is a true walk through stories and spaces. The high ceilings, peeling walls, and faded grandeur of the villa form a stunning contrast with the contemporary works of the different works on show. Each room tells its own story where designers carefully choosing materials, light, and placement to engage with the space rather than overpower it. There’s something magical in the way natural light filters through old windows and interacts with the pieces. And just as last time I also really loved the raw basement and its kitchen.

Just outside the villa, the new Pasino Glasshouses offered a beautiful contrast to the historic interiors. I loved the walk over the fields towards the glasshouses, a new location and once home to one of Europe’s largest white orchid cultivations. Today, they offer a stunning natural backdrop, creating a space where vegetation interacts with the exhibited pieces. Alcova continues to be more than just an exhibition—it’s an experience, a slow discovery of both space and ideas.
