Last year the showroom of Danish brand Fritz Hansen was one of my personal and many other visitors favourite during Milan Design week, have a look at it here if you missed it |Fritz Hansen apartment by Cristine Rudolph| This year Fritz Hansen showed their collection in the new showroom at piazza Simpliciano, a beautiful little square opposite the old showroom. With an installation made out of wooden blocks and their iconic chairs you just couldn’t miss it.
‘Atelier’, a small exhibition in the basement of the new showroom shows all kind of material in an atelier like setting together with different Fritz Hansen design pieces. During the Salone Fritz Hansen launched ‘Objects’, a new accessories line designed by Danish and international designers. Each of the items in the Objects collection has a story of its own, the mirror is not really a mirror, the vase is designed to pay tribute to the whole flower, not just the head, and the Shaker inspired trays are crafted with exactly the same materials and attention to detail as the Ant chair and the Series 7 chair.
