Sergio Herman Surface table collection for Serax

I still regret not having been able to response to the invite of coming to the pre-view and lunch at the Jane Antwerp and must admit I still didn’t manage to have lunch or dinner at the beautiful restaurant of Sergio Herman. Piet Boon who was responsible for the interior made a special tableware line in collaboration with Serax. This time it was up to Sergio Herman himself to launch his tableware line ‘Surface’ with well known Belgium company Serax.

I was happy to travel to Belgium last week to attend the launch of Surface, see the collection with my own eyes and meet, and have a delicious lunch by Sergio Herman, I am still dreaming about the risotto! Inspired by the deep grey colours of the North sea, the pristine nature of Zeeland and the aging skin Sergio designed ‘Surface’, a tableware collection consisting of beautiful ceramics in Camogreen, Rustybrown and Indigrey. I love how they can all be combined together adding an amazing colour play to your table.

The terracotta casserole dishes in mat black are inspired by the casseroles he got his pasta served in at home. Surface is a complete tableware collection including Glasses, cutting boards and kitchen knives and cutlery inspired by original French horeca cutlery and last but not least coasters made out of water hyacint. Of course I also had a tour through the huge showroom and will point out some of Serax’s other collaborations in a next post. We had an amazing day at Serax’s headquarters, thank you so much Sergio Herman and Serax.
