Stefan Knopp edition for JANUA | imm favourite

When it comes to certain company’s I can get quite touched and almost emotional by seeing their products, I know it might sound strange to some of you but sometimes a brand just represent everything I really love in one simple piece of furniture or object. I have this with pieces of Dutch WDSTCK, Rick Owens, some Belgian designers like Het Heerenhuis and French Mad et Len.

When going through the list of brands to contact for my stand it was love at first sight with the wooden SK 02 Cube from the Stefan Knopp Edition from Janua and I must admit I was kind of stubborn to get them for my stand and at the end I was rewarded with not only 2 beautiful rough blocks of wood, yes I like beautiful things like that! but also with their latest product, a black coffee table, the ‘BC 05 Stomp’, a real statement and a solid disc cut from a tree trunk. A pretty impressive piece of wood resting on a filigree metal frame, which is available in different designs.

The cube’s I already planned as beautiful freestanding pieces of art under the pictures of the Sardinian Carnival, they are available in three different heights and four different shades: black, grey, silver and white. When placing some plants on the coffee table during setup, the idea of creating a sturdy green corner that could protect the huge white lamps by Brokis was born, and turned out to be one of my personal favourite corners.

The Stefan Knopp Edition consists of a collection of tables all with unique surfaces and different benches, with the SK07 ritual bowl Stefan Knopp traverses the border between furniture and objet d’art. Turned out of a piece of wood, the bowls are then char-burned.

I was happy to meet up in person with the team at the end of a long day at the imm fair last week and took some pictures of their stand where JANUA and Freifrau together as one brand presented the characteristic tables by JANUA and seats by Freifrau more pictures of their stand at imm can be found at the website
