Since my first trip to Copenhagen I have always loved visiting the Frama Studio Store, located in the beautiful preserved St. Pauls Apotek. Over the years the space has been their creative headquarters and flagship showroom. Last year, the team also moved into the top floor and with the opening of Apotek 57 the evolution of the St. Pauls Apotek space continues: A new eatery inside the Studio Store. Good food, cooking, and shared meals have been an important part of the studio’s philosophy of holistic living and community over the years. With the new eatery we get to experience the studio’s uniquely warm aesthetic and creative passion in a relaxed and tangible way.
To be honest I can’t wait to go back to Copenhagen and visit Apotek 57. Curated by chef Chiara Barla, Apotek 57 will daily feature house-made seasonal foods and seeks to be an inclusive gathering place for the local community and for design enthusiasts from around the world. Good food, coffee and design are a few of the things I really enjoy and what better combining the two! As an organic extension of the Frama Studio Store, the interior of Apotek 57 will naturally feature a thoughtful selection of design pieces from the Frama product collections, including the studio’s own lighting, dining tables and chairs, kitchen furniture, tableware, glassware, and cutlery.

Throughout the year, each of the breakfast and lunch offerings at Apotek 57 will be based on seasonal produce. The menu will offer a selection of baked goods made exclusively for Apotek 57, accompanied by coffee from La Cabra and jams, preserves, freshly pressed juices, and fermented drinks, all made on-site. “What I like the most about serving food on site,” says Barla, “is that you can tell a story by combining different flavour, techniques and colours, and I love the sense of conviviality that you can build around it.”

“The opening of Apotek 57 represents a full circle moment for us,” says Niels, one of the founders of Frama, “this is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time and it seems that now, perhaps more than ever before, this is the right time to create a welcoming space where people can come to getaway for a little while; to escape with a book, or to eat a good, simple meal, or to be a part of an intimate gathering of old friends and new.”
