Choosing a countertop is really personal and unless you totally trust on your interior architect, it is just like choosing your kitchen fronts, something you want to see up close before deciding. New in Amsterdam to help you decide ánd see the many options and different materials is the brand new Cosentino City Amsterdam.
Cosentino City Amsterdam is the 15th inspiration center for Cosentino and covers 550 m22 of interior space. A unique inspiration centre where Cosentino provides a platform where architects and designers can meet and work, and media and consumers can get inspired and get acquainted with Cosentino’s latest products and expertise through digital visualizations, and material experiences.
Cosentino City Amsterdam
Cosentino City Amsterdam is located at Van Baerlestraat 41, just around the corner of Museumplein, and I was happy to take a 15 minute bike ride downtown for a private tour to see the brand new inspiration centre. The new city concept consists of 2 floors with multiple spaces where the main brands Silestone®, Dekton® and Sensa® stand out.First thing noticed were the floors with large format Dekton and walking into the kitchen area the Herringbone laid floor! A real experience together with examples of (ventilated) façade applications. The building consists of three buildings that have been merged into one space. The design of the interior has an industrial appearance in which the characteristic properties of the building have been used as canvas. This is underlined by the wooden beam structure on the ceiling.
Worktop inspiration and materials can be experienced live and in large format and I thought the system, where you not only see a plate vertically but can also rotate it horizontally to experience what it looks like as a worktop, was just brilliant. On my Instagram account you can see the small movie I made of this.
Atelier Lab
Just like I love moodboards with examples of materials to fully experience the new atmosphere I would like to go for Cosentino city has created the 'Atelier Lab' filled with samples, not only from Cosentino’s own collection but also from other materials such as wood, textiles, wallpaper, books, all things that help creating a real home.Digital technology
If you want to experience how one of Cosentino's products would look in your own kitchen or bathroom there is the Digital Experience, a space where projects can be displayed in 3D and adapted in augmented reality. There is also a life-size screen with a digital slab, where the slab material can be displayed at full size.Links and blogs
