New beginnings & looking back at 2018

Hello how are you all doing! I have been taking it slow over the last two weeks and enjoyed a little break from the blog. These last weeks of the year I always feel like having a wintersleep till Spring and when there is no need to get up early, I go to bed way too late, watch too much Netflix and seem to get more lazy every day. And suddenly it’s January, a new year and lots to look forward too starting with a month of visiting the first interior fairs, a busy schedule and new plans for the home.

For me personally 2018 was a good year with lovely collaborations and several trips with friends and our new agency. Although I feel blessed I do not always need people around to feel happy and actually enjoy having time on my own, I do love company and will try to make more time for the people I love in this new year. It was also the year I finally travelled back to Sardinia, the island I feel so at home and spend lots of Summers with my kids and our Sardinian family, but never returned after we seperated. I am really happy I did, it made Summer of 2018 even better.

Kicking of 2018 w/ Style
I literally kicked of 2018 w/ Style as in January Wen of BeeldSTEIL  and myself launched our website after teaming up as w/ Style agency.  Our first collaboration was right after new years day with Danish Vipp who invited us to photograph the Vipp kitchen at their new hotel concept ‘The Vipp hotel We stayed in both the loft in Copenhagen and the shelter at a Swedish lake, a trip we still often talk about.

Interior design fairs & Press trips
For the first fair of the year, I visited Domotex together with a team of design bloggers from different countries. Part of my collaboration with Domotex was the participation in two panel discussions, both moderated by Holly. We also worked together at the Salone del Mobile in Milan for one day and will be reunited in less then two weeks at Hannover, can’t wait to hang out with this crazy team again.

I visited Ambiente for the first time as a media journalist and worked a few days on the fair together with some other friends who were invited. For imm Cologne I shared my personal design highlights in a Trade fair tour: ‘The new Scandinavian‘ giving visitors the opportunity to meet some of my favourite brands, and I took over the imm Instagram account to share even more of my personal highlights. Stay tuned for imm 2019 and let’s meet! Get your tickets here ‘advertising link’

Copenhagen is an old time favourite of mine I visited four times this year, 3 days of Design is a great event I visited, in September I came back joined a press trip organised by Fredericia and Georg Jensen.

Embracing colour at home
At home I got all ceilings and some walls plastered and worked with the We are Wow makers holiday collection to bring some colour back into my home,  don’t expect a real colour fest as I kept it to gray and a sandy colour from this colour line by my friend Anouk. Stay tuned for more changes at home.

Summer colours & an autumn break

More colours captured during my Summer holiday in Sardinia where I strolled through the old town and found this beauty. Summer was great and together with Wen I also visited Barcelona and Madrid to capture two hotels, find them at our Travel w/ Style page including our autumn trip to Malmö where we spent a few days on invitation of the city.

Collaborations
Really thankful for the many collaborations both on Vosgesparis and with our agency. I restyled my bedroom with Swiss Sense and Couleur Locale and later with bed linnen by Aiayu and art by Fino Prydz.
For most of the art prints I have a home I work with our friends at Paper Collective and
we also worked with them for the apartment shoot we did with Quick-Step. bulthaup became a long term partner of w/ Style we first did a shoot with their b-Solitaire and continued our collaboration shooting their accessories which I showed in dedicated blog posts on Vosgesparis.

I loved our photoshoot for Blomus and Italian Alessi and also by Wirth, Nuuralighting, Karin Carlander and
Serax were some of our favourite partners of 2018 I got to work with together with w/ Style.

Event styling and selected w/ Style travel products
With w/ Style we restyled the event space for the Hoxton Design Event and selected some of our favourite brands
to work with for the occasion, find them all in this dedicated blogpost:
Hoxton Design Event. We also joined one of the panel talks, and last but not least we showed a part of our ‘selected w/ Style’ collection of travel products. We have some great brands selected for 2019 so stay tuned.

I have to admit I not really love to talk in front of an audience and after Domotex and the Hoxton design talks we agreed on giving a guest lecture for one night at the Elle Decoration and Fontys course for interior journalism.

I am sure I forgot to mention some things in this little recap but I can’t say it enough, I am really grateful to have been able to do what I love most, styling and covering great brands on the blog and traveling a lot. I am also really proud of our first year w/ Style and happy to have a partner in crime to work with, thank you Wen. And thank you for all your lovely comments on my social media  and emails, I hope you will stick around in 2019!

Wishing you all a very happy but most of all healthy 2019!
